Goa Province (GOA) has 4 Social Action / Animation centres in parts of Karnataka state, particularly in Belgaum area and in the state of Goa. To know more about Goa Province's Social Action, Click HERE

They are:

a) Shramik Abhivrudhi Sangh (Jana Jagaran) in Belgaum

b) Grameen Yuvak Vikas Kendra in Belgaum

c) Xavier Community College in Belgaum

d) Social Welfare Action through Democratic Empowerment of Society (SWADES) in Goa

The Major Activities of each of these centres are:

a) Shramik Abhivrudhi Sangh (Jana Jagaran): Click HERE for More...

Empowering traditional nomadic and semi nomadic shepherds; Empowering rural women – SHG formation; Community health with focus on women and children; Livelihood programs for women from tribal and backward communities; Traditional crafts – income generating opportunities for SHG women; Pre-school programs and promoting tailoring skills; Environmental protection: biogas, rural sanitation, micro watershed and joint forest management; Empowering elected women representatives of the local government; Networking and advocacy on justice issue Exposure-immersion program for students and the staffs of other NGOs.

b) Grameen Yuvak Vikas Kendra:

Empowerment of the youth through job oriented training, sports, panchayati raj, personality development, value education and tailoring classes; Supporting and helping disabled youth by giving buffaloes and panpatti shops for income generation; Motor driving school for youth; Training on Right to Information Act, 2005.

c) Xavier Community College:

Training of electrician, plumber, bench fitter, turner, fashion designing, cutting, tailoring and dress making; Courses in electrical technician, welding technology, secretarial practice, word processing etc.; National Open School, pre-nursery programme, hostel for boys and girls.

d) SWADES:

Empowering rural women – Formation and strengthening of SHGs; Training in income generation for SHG women; Working with Panchayat run schools to enhance educational standards through remedial english classes, assistance in studies and personality development; Empowering elected women representatives of the local government through Panchayati Raj and legal literacy; Networking and advocacy on justice issues.
