Jesuits in Social Action (JESA) is the Social Action Sector of the Society of Jesus in South Asia. It is the coordinating organ of the social actions works of the 18 Provinces and 2 Regions in South Asian Assistancy.

South Asian Assistancy comprises of India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. has a Secretary who cooridinates all the Social Action Activities of the Assistancy. 

JESA attempts to translate Jesuit ideals into practice, standing by the marginalised, enabling the downtrodden groups to move towards empowerment, especially of dalits, tribals, youth, women, children and unorganized secotr, as its priority groups. 

To get complete access to the Jesuit Social Documents, JESA Reports, information about the Jesuit Social Action members and their plans you need to be registered. This registration is allowed only to the Jesuits and their Collaborators.

Fr. Patxi, the SJES Secretary, Rome Visits India

New Delhi, October 12: The Staff and the Jesuit Community at ISI, New Delhi extended a warm welcome to Fr. Patxi, the Secretary for Social Justice and Ecology Secretariat (SJES).

Fr. Patxi, visited ISI-Delhi, and the provinces of Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Dumka-Raiganj and Calcutta. He was accompanied by his colleague Fr. Xavier Jeyaraj.  They also participated in the JESA Province Coordinators Meet from 23-26 October in Goa.
