Jesuits in Social Action (JESA) is the Social Action Sector of the Society of Jesus in South Asia. It is the coordinating organ of the social actions works of the 18 Provinces and 2 Regions in South Asian Assistancy.

South Asian Assistancy comprises of India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. has a Secretary who cooridinates all the Social Action Activities of the Assistancy. 

JESA attempts to translate Jesuit ideals into practice, standing by the marginalised, enabling the downtrodden groups to move towards empowerment, especially of dalits, tribals, youth, women, children and unorganized secotr, as its priority groups.

JESA Deliberation– Report

The Secretariat of Jesuits in Social Action (JESA) organised a deliberation at the Indian Social Institute, New Delhi, from 15th to 17th March 2013. Thirty Jesuits working for social justice across India, along with a few of their collaborators, deliberated on the future of their mission in the changing environment of the Indian state and sought to identify areas and methodologies for effective interventions and collaboration with institutions, movements, citizens and civil society.
